Japanese Craft DIY Kits
Experience Tsumami Zaiku with Traditional Japanese Fabric
Tsumami Zaiku is a traditional Japanese craft technique in which small pieces of fabric are folded and arranged to create flowers and decorative designs.
Palette Japan develops beginner-friendly Tsumami Zaiku DIY kits using Japanese materials, including Sakai Chusen fabric.
Sakai Chusen is a traditional dyeing technique that has been passed down in Sakai, Osaka.
We use surplus and irregular fabric that might otherwise be discarded, giving these valuable materials a new purpose through craft.
Our original method allows beginners to enjoy Tsumami Zaiku without using the traditional tweezers normally required for the craft.
Our DIY kits are suitable for:
- Retail sales
- Workshops
- Cultural events
- Schools and educational programs
- Museums and cultural institutions
- Corporate and community activities
English-language instructions and video support can also be provided.
We welcome inquiries regarding wholesale supply, workshop use, educational programs, and international collaborations.

Our International Activities
Palette Japan is actively introducing Japanese craft and culture to international audiences.
In Singapore, we have developed a local network of Tsumami Zaiku Trainers and support a range of activities, including:
- Exhibitions and sales events
- Workshops and demonstrations
- Trainer education and development
- Cultural and educational programs
- Collaborations with local organizations and businesses
Our aim is not simply to introduce Japanese craft through one-time events.
By developing local Trainers who can continue teaching and sharing Tsumami Zaiku within their own communities, we aim to create a sustainable foundation for Japanese craft to grow locally.
Through these activities, Japanese craftsmanship becomes more than a product.
It becomes a hands-on experience, a connection between people, and a meaningful form of cultural exchange.
